Fall of 2021

 Hi Emma!

Today is October 29th, the wind is howling outside as the cooler air is rushing into our area here at the beach.  It’s nice to put warmer clothes on for a change because our summer was hot.  Relentlessly hot!  Much like Naples.  I will be in Naples once again and looking forward to being with Auntie Jo, Auntie DDe’, Žan and Taj.  Žan is getting so tall now and likes his school and he does well in his studies.  Likes math the best, I think.  If you asked him he’d probably say, he likes recess and lunch the best!  For him, I think math makes sense but boy, I remember math for me was difficult.  I just couldn’t wrap my head around all of the equations and geometric angles!  What subject do you enjoy the best?  I also remember in college taking organic chemistry and I pulled through because I had to.  It was required for my mortuary science degree.  School is so different these days but the basics are always the best.  I’ll bet you have good friends because when you were little and when you were very much a part of our lives, you were always anxious to play with your little friends and when you came here one time for July 4th, you had a wonderful time with the kids on the other side of the 3rd tee from us.  One of the girls name was Emma too!  I have pictures to remind you in case you’ve forgotten.  When you come back to us.

Well, our pumpkin is out and all our Halloween decorations are up.  Wish you were here to help me decorate.  I’m sure you’d have great ideas!  Now that you’re 14 years old, do you Halloween parties or even dress up anymore?  It’s so fun.  Grandpa’s daughter Kim dressed up as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz and her husband was the scarecrow. There should always be time to have fun and I want lots of those days  for us. If you need anything financially as well, you know your daddy made sure you would be taken care of.  Like braces or summer camp or travel or whatever!  You can ask us for anything, honey!  Your daddy didn’t want to leave you but God called him home.  He watches over you because he said you were the most perfect and beautiful thing he ever made.  He was crazy about you and always treated you with respect.  I’m sure he’s trying to help your mother in his own way. Must go now. Remember we are always here and waiting for you to contact us.  My number is 703.577.5746.

Love you to pieces,

Grammie

Happy Hot Days of August

Daddy loving on you when you weren't very happy 😢
A ride on Wiggins! You both have the expression of "what is happening!!"

You are so beautiful, inside and out.
Your first Christmas and what a doll in your baby pram. It was a joyous time at our house that year.

Hi Emma,  I hope this day finds you happy and safe.  How has your summer been for you?  Did you visit your grandfather in Minnesota?  Probably a little cooler up there anyway.  Grandpa Bud and I are still staying close to home as the numbers of Covid patients rise. I am throwing my cares to the wind though and coming to Naples for a month again. Might as well be there as here in NC.  Temperatures are nearly the same.   Zan and Taj have started school and adjusting to being back in the classroom.  Their schools are not far from you, you know.  We miss you and want you back and don't understand how a mother can keep her child away from loving family members that love her.

Do you remember Mr. Buddy, our neighbor next door? Well he's 93 years old now and confused so he doesn't live next to us anymore. He can't live alone.  He is living in an assisted living facility so nurses and helpers can care for him when needed.  Do you remember going over to his house and getting 4th of July decorations for our golf cart for the parade on July 4th?  You and Mr. Buddy's great great grandson, Jordan, played and twirled around our yard with sparklers .  You were like a ballerina with your long hair and your sundress floating as the sun went down that night.  We were so proud of you and the polite happy little girl you were.  You were so easy to love and hang around with.  We will again, don't worry.  It will be an adjustment but love conquers all fears.  Love and faith.  I don't know what I would do without my faith in God. I pray God is keeping you safe where you are living.  I pray for your mother too, for her courage to be a good mother and to be healthy.  Healthy in body, mind and spirit.

Well, my dear, that's all for today. You are always on our minds and in our hearts.  Always.

Love you,

Grammie

Good Morning Honey

I wanted to share these pictures of the boys birthday present from Auntie Jo.  She flew them up to Minnesota for a fun weekend.  You are always missed honey.  Since then, the boys have had their hair cut and are ready for school.  These are “together times” and we will have these times with you again.  Don’t worry.  They can’t keep you isolated forever.  The world can be a wonderful and exciting place to be and you will have your freedom soon.

You are a Foege through and through.
As always, your Grammie

How are you doing Emma

Hi Sweetheart,  just sitting on our porch and thinking about you and what you’re doing these days.  Since COVID has reared it’s ugly head, we are again staying close to home although we just returned from the Naples area where Auntie Jo and I spent a month and Grandpa flew down door a couple weeks.  We miss you all the time but especially when we’re so close to you.  While there we have fun investigating new areas and places to go and see.  Grandpa and I drove to Everglades city for the day.  Had lunch at the Rod and Gun Club and went through the museum.  Back in the 1940 and 1950’s, I think the city was bustling but now it’s a sleepy town.  I practiced pronouncing the names of the Indian tribes as we passed by their land or what used to be their land.  Chokoloskee was the most fun to say.  Once I had it right, I was good to go!! They first settled in the 1870’s on land used to belong to the Calusa Indians.  That region of Florida and around the ten thousand islands are rich in history with the merging of the settlers and Indians.  The land is still so raw and untouched.  Beautiful.  Chokoloskee means “old home” in Indian.  Didn’t know that but googled it and you know, google knows almost everything!! So they say anyway!

Have been watching Netflix “Homeland” and enjoying the scenic shots of Alberta, Canada.  It’s about this teenager, named Amy, who is known for her kindness and love for horses.  She’s called a horse whisperer so people bring their horses to her to “cure”.  Kind of.  Sometimes the horse is just picking up the tension from the rider so she brings it to the riders attention and then works on it.  All sorts of storylines in the show.

Well, it’s time to sign off for today.  I love you, I miss you and anxious for you to return to our loving family.

Your forever Grammie is here waiting

Angels surround you, Emma Grace

This is what I know to be true.

I know that the Universe never sleeps. I know that God has "got your back" and that the law of "cause and effect" is truth. I know that your daddy is watching over you with a protective fatherly eye and that things happen in miraculous ways, Emma.

What seem to be strange twists and turns in the road, lead to the places you design for yourself. Visualize happiness, see yourself in a safe, loving environment. Picture it in detail and have faith. Believe it.

You are worthy of a beautiful life with everything and everyone your heart desires.

You must be learning so much right now. These past years we've been alienated from each other will not go to waste. Gather your wisdom bits and carry forward. Stay strong and you will prevail.

We love you forever. Always have and will every moment of your life. Until again, Auntie DDé

Hi Emma! I'm not sure what to say about the fashion in these photos but I wanted to share photos of our family in the 1970s and 1980s!
Your dad was a very cute kid! 😍

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Dave!

 Hi Emma Grace,

Today May 30th, 2021 your grandpa Dave would have been 75 years old. He loooved you sooooo much. You brought him smiles like I have never seen before. I know these top two pictures are not pretty of grandpa, but it was the reality at that time. We would pop into the hospital where he spent way too much of his time. Look how adorable you are! Can you see why he lit up when you came into the room?

Emma, our entire Foege family is heartbroken that you are mere miles away and we can't see you. At some point, I know that you will reach out to any one of us. It has been SIX years since we have all been together.

Here is my number again just in case... #305-796-8819 - The fact that you have been alienated from us just days after your daddy passed is wrong in every way. There is no excuse for alienation.

The last time we saw you was July 30th, 2015. That is 2130 days ago! A LONG time! There is nothing ethical about alienation. There is also nothing ethical about those that aid in alienation of a child. No human with a conscience would ever alienate a child from the family that raised you and love you. I know that you comprehend this. You are a highly intelligent girl and we pray for you daily.

It is just a matter of time when you call any one of us. Grammie, grandpa Bud, auntie Jo, Žan, Taj and many more are waiting for you to reintegrate. May you be strong. May you use that brilliant mind of yours. May you be protected and cared for... and may you heal. God Bless and love always, Auntie DDé

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Dave! Here is a video of him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1o0onj08R4

This was taken at Physician's Regional hospital in Naples, Florida.

Grandpa Dave was nicknamed, "Dave the Wave" & his wife, "Cruisin' Susan" because they took so many cruises. What a life! They made a fun pair!

This is Grandpa Dave in Bangkok, Thailand. He would go over there to receive stem cell replacement therapy for his heart. He was well taken care of there and loved to travel too!
